Specification for electric-resistance-welded carbon steel and carbon-manganese steel boiler and super heater tubes

This specification covers minimum-wall-thickness electric-resistance-welded tubes made of carbon steel and cabon-manganese steel intended for use as boiler tubes, boiler flues, super heater flues, and safe ends.

Ordering Information:
1.Orders for material under this specification should include the following, as required, to describe the desired material adequately: Quantity, name of material( electric-resistance-welded tubes). Grade (A, C, or D). Size, Length, Optional requirements (product analysis, crush test, hydrostatic or nondestructive electric test.) Test report required ( Certification section of specification A450/A450M), specification, and designation, individual supplementary requirements, if required and special requirements.

ASME SA178 Grade A: C 0.06-0.18 Mn 0.27-0.63 P 0.035 max. S 0.035 max.
ASME SA178 Grade C: C 0.35max. Mn 0.8 max. P 0.035 max. S 0.035 max.
ASME SA178 Grade D: C 0.27max. Mn 1.00-1.50P 0.035 max. S 0.015 max. Si. 0.10 min.

ASME SA178 Grade C: Tensile strength 415 Mpa. min. Yield strength. min. 255Mpa. Elongation in 2 in or 50mm min. 30%
ASME SA178 Grade D: Tensile strength 485 Mpa. min. Yield strength. min. 275Mpa. Elongation in 2 in or 50mm min. 30%
